Maddox ‘Hasn’t Been Receptive’ to Angelina Jolie’s Efforts to Reconcile Her Son With Brad Pitt

Even though Angelina Jolie has been trying to reconnect her oldest son, Maddox Jolie-Pitt, with his father, Brad Pitt, it doesn’t seem like it’s working out so well. “Maddox hasn’t been receptive,” a source told Us Weekly. “And for Brad, it’s a tremendous loss.”

Since Maddox is currently attending college at the Yonsei University in South Korea, the 55-year-old Fight Club alum is staying positive that he will be able to make amends with his second oldest son, Pax Jolie-Pitt. “With Maddox overseas, Brad is also hopeful that Pax will also be interested in reconnecting without the influence of his older brother,” the insider added.

In August, the 44-year-old brunette beauty — who shares six kids with Brad: Maddox, 18, Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 13 and twins Vivienne and Knox, both 11 — went to Asia to drop Maddox at school. “Maddox is leaving the tight-knit family nest and while there have been some tears, he’s super excited about starting this new journey,” a source exclusively told In Touch. “They’re all going to miss their oldest brother, who’s always been kind and a very calming presence, even when he was little.”

However, Brad was noticeably absent from the trip overseas — and it seems like there was a good reason for that. In a video exclusively obtained by In Touch, a cameraman asked the college freshman if his famous father would be making a trip to see him. “Um, I don’t know about that … what’s happening,” he said. “Whatever happens, happens.”

The Oklahoma native hasn’t spoken out about the harsh comments Maddox made since he has been busy promoting his latest movie, Ad Astra, all over the world. After an alleged altercation took place between Maddox and Brad on a private plane in 2016 — right before Angie and Brad called it quits after 11 years together — things haven’t been the same. There were rumors going around that the handsome hunk was drinking too much at the time, but he was cleared of any wrongdoing.

Ultimately, Brad is hoping that he can reconcile with Maddox once and for all. “Brad remains upbeat that Maddox will reach out,” another insider told the outlet. “Brad has talked to Angelina about visiting Maddox in Seoul.”
