No drama here! Brad Pitt was all smiles during the Ad Astra press conference at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation in Tokyo on Thursday, September 12. This past week, Brad’s oldest son, Maddox Jolie-Pitt, commented on their estranged relationship, but it seems like the actor didn’t let that get in the way of him promoting his new film.

Throughout the event, the 55-year-old seemed like he was in great spirits as he was frequently caught laughing and waving at the audience. Brad sported a newsboy cap with a blue jacket with jeans. At one point, the Oklahoma native posed with an astronaut in honor of his new movie which is about a man’s journey across the solar system.

Just one day earlier, the Fight Club alum was seen at the Narita International Airport after he touched down in Asia. Brad — who was previously married to Angelina Jolie — greeted fans who wanted to snap a picture with the handsome hunk after he hopped off the plane.

Maddox, 18, recently got candid about his family drama in a video interview exclusively obtained by In Touch. The cameraman asked Maddox if his famous father would be making an appearance on campus at the Yonsei University in Incheon, South Korea. “Um, I don’t know about that … what’s happening,” he bluntly said. So, is their relationship over for good? “Whatever happens, happens,” he said.

In August, Angelina — who shares six kids with Brad: Maddox, Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 13, and 11-year-old twins, Vivienne and Knox — dropped her son off at college. “Maddox is leaving the tight-knit family nest and while there have been some tears, he’s super excited about starting his new journey,” a source previously revealed to In Touch. “He told his siblings that they have to listen to Pax now, which they all laughed at. Pax probably took it the hardest, but he’s tough and doesn’t cry, all the other kids got teary-eyed. They’re going to miss their oldest brother, who’s always been kind of a very calming presence, even when he was little.”
