Ryan Edwards’ Wife Mackenzie Is Back On ‘Teen Mom OG’ After Saying ‘We’re Not Returning’

Welp, so much for quitting! Though Mackenzie Edwards said over the summer that she and her husband Ryan Edwards were “not returning” for more Teen Mom OG, it looks like that wasn’t actually the end of things. During this week’s episode, Mack was back on our screens with Ryan’s family once again. Guess she wasn’t so done with the hit MTV show after all. Or maybe she just reconsidered?

Back in July, the 21-year-old reality star told E! News that the couple wouldn’t be part of the show in the fall. “We’re not returning to Teen Mom this season,” she explained. “The network told us they don’t want to show Ryan as a recovering addict… But they did want to enter a contract with our unborn baby and have the baby film with Ryan’s parents so it would look like someone else is raising it.”

On Monday, Oct. 29, though, Mack and Ryan’s parents, Jen and Larry Edwards, were discussing where Bentley would go to school. It’s a topic that Ryan and his ex, Maci Bookout, don’t agree on when it comes to their son — and they both feel pretty strongly. While Ryan was away at rehab, his wife was there with his family to argue his side of things, insisting that the 30-year-old father was “dead set” on his son going to private school.

The argument was definitely an interesting one (and we’re sure more complicated than a few minutes of screen-time can solve), but we couldn’t help but be distracted by the fact that Mackenzie was there at all. Does that mean that this scene was filmed a while back? Or is MTV down to invite the couple, or at least one half of the couple, in front of the cameras every now and then? Fans were confused about the issue, too.

“Why was Mackenzie on the show when she wasn’t suppose to film anymore??” wrote one Twitter user. “I thought Mackenzie wasn’t filming?” added another. “Or did that happen later on?”

The network might not be down to have regular storylines about Mack and Ryan, but, TBH, they’ll always be a part of Maci’s story. So can we expect more cameos in the future? We’re crossing our fingers, but we’re definitely not holding our breath.
