Viral Video Update: The Shocking Turn of Events After Video of Husband Cheating Went Viral — New Infidelity, Attempted Assault and More

When Leslie Varner, an Idaho woman who found out that her husband, Cody Varner, was trying to have an affair with her best friend, Samantha Malia Stutheit, she made up her mind to confront him — and catch his reaction on camera.

While the filmed confrontation hilariously highlighted Cody’s failed attempt at cheating on his wife, In Touch has learned that what happened when the cameras stopped rolling is far crazier.

“It had 30 shares within the first minute,” Leslie’s friend Samantha exclusively reveals of the viral clip, which now has more than 2.3 million views. “It blew up!” (Samantha first put the video on her Facebook page about a year ago, right after the incident, but it recently went viral again.)

“Leslie went back to Cody after that,” says Samantha, now a 23-year-old bartender explains. “Then I separated from my husband, Cody [Meyers, 28]. Within four days of our split, Leslie slept with him!” (Cody M. confirms hooking up with Leslie, 25, but insists it happened after his divorce from Samantha was finalized.)

“I was shocked,” added Samantha. “It blew my mind.”

The insanity doesn’t end there. Both couples have since divorced, and Samantha and Leslie are no longer pals. “Leslie apologized after my ex-husband came clean about them sleeping together, but whatever. I don’t hold grudges but I’m not going to be her friend anymore.”

“Cody [Varner] went to jail for assaulting Leslie — she has a restraining order against him,” Samantha reveals. Court records obtained by In Touch say the arborist, 26, was arrested in December 2015 for attempting to strangle Leslie — which happened, Samantha says, in front of their young daughter! (Cody V. pleaded down to disturbing the peace.)

Leslie and Cody V. have not responded to comment requests, but Cody V.’s family blames Leslie for everything. “She had that tape posted to be a stupid b–ch,” Cody’s sister Robbie Varner claims. “That tape destroyed my family. It never needs to be brought up again.”
