It may be their job to live their lives in front of a camera, but Kim and Khloé Kardashian are here to remind you that they don’t do absolutely everything with an audience. After a hater on Twitter claimed they didn’t “donate even a penny” to the Australian fires or the fight against climate change, both Keeping Up With the Kardashians stars clapped back. On Sunday, January 5, Kim was the first to speak out. The next day, her younger sis followed in her footsteps.

The drama started when a Twitter user, who has since deleted their post, wrote, “Nothing gets me more heated than to see the Kardashians/Jenners talk about climate change/wildfires [and] not donate even a penny.” In response, Kim, 39, fired back, “Nothing gets me more heated than to see people think they know what we donated to and to think we have to publicize everything.”

On Monday, January 6, Khloé, 35, retweeted her older sister’s response, then shared a message of her own. Quoting the Modern King James Version of the Bible, she wrote, “Therefore when you do your merciful deeds, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may have glory from men. Truly I say to you, They have their reward.”

In her own words, she continued, “We often bring attention to causes and ways you can donate. It’s our job to bring awareness to situations so we all can help as a human race. We frequently post/speak about organizations/websites where we can all help save our planet. … Good deeds should be done with intention and not for attention. We are all blessed to be able to bless others even if it is in the slightest way. But we do not need to be boastful about that. Be boastful in regards to teaching others how they may be able to help as well.”

Not everyone agreed with the message, though. Some fans continued to call the reality stars out. “Seeing y’all help others helped me to want to donate! So yes, keep ‘boasting,'” one wrote with an eyeroll emoji. “Then tweet some links to your charity, Khloé,” a second added with the eyes emoji. Another simply put, “I disagree. Sometimes talking about your good deeds can inspire others to do good deeds.”
