Kelsey Grammer of New Wife, Kayte: “She’s Extraordinary!”

Kelsey and Kayte Grammer had that newlywed glow at the 65th Annual Tony Awards in NYC, and couldn’t wait to share their wedded bliss with In Touch. “She supports me in everything I do,” Kelsey, 56, told In Touch. “She’s extraordinary. I’ve never known anybody like her.”

And the feeling was more than mutual. Kayte, 29, shared that the best thing about being married to Kelsey was “Just waking up next to him every morning and just loving him,” while Kelsey held her hand and gave her an adoring gaze.

When we asked Kelsey if he was a romantic, the talented actor of stage and television laughed and shared, “I don’t know. I make the eggs in the morning! I make the coffee! And I’m always sort of sneaking up behind her!”

Kayte suffered an unfortunate miscarriage in the beginning of their relationship, but despite that painful heartbreak, the loving couple is eager to start a family. When In Touch asked if they were eager to have children. Kelsey and Kayte chimed in together, “Yes, we are!”

Kelsey’s children with ex-wife Camille, Mason, 9, and Jude, 6, are excited at the prospect of having more siblings. "I think the kids are excited about the idea of having a new family,” Kelsey admitted. “They’re very, very cool about it. My son Jude, especially. He’s like, when are the children coming!”

And how is Kayte as a stepmom? “Extraordinary!” Kelsey enthused. “Kate has a light that is inextinguishable. She has a love that is true beyond anyone’s understanding. She sees the loving angle in almost any dilemma in any situation. She’s an extraordinary woman, and I am as blessed as I ever have been in my life.”

Kayte agreed that Kelsey was a perfect partner. “He’s wonderful,” Kayte shared. “You couldn’t ask for more!”

But Kelsey confessed that his contentious divorce and child custody battle with Camille, 42, was stressful. “It’s going to be a long, drawn-out thing. Turgid and unpleasant, I’m sure,” Kelsey said. “But not on my side!”

With all that stress and unpleasantness, we had to ask Kelsey if there was any possibility that he could be friends with Camille someday. “I really can’t say,” Kelsey said, adding that protecting his children was his main priority. “It’s very hard at this point. I’m not going to say much about that. But I’m going to do my best to make sure my kids are ok.”
