Back on the Market? Katie Holmes Looking to Date Someone Who ‘Will Be There’ for Daughter Suri

Now that the dust has settled after Katie Holmes split from her longtime boyfriend, Jamie Foxx, she is back on the dating scene. A source told In Touch exclusively that the 40-year-old is feeling great, moving on and looking for a father figure for Suri.

“‘New decade. New beginning’ is how Katie sees it,” the insider said, adding that Katie bounced back quickly after her breakup from Jamie, 51. “It’s taken Katie no time at all to get over him,” the source explained. “He’s already a distant memory and she’s more than ready to find love again. In fact, she’s currently dating up a storm!”

One important quality she is looking for in a man is a paternal presence. “Her No. 1 priority is meeting someone who can build a strong relationship with Suri,” the source added. “If they don’t tick that box, Katie’s just not interested.” Suri hasn’t been photographed with her father, Tom Cruise, since 2013 and although Jamie helped fill that void, the source said he was often doing his own thing. “So now Katie will only get serious with a guy who she knows will be there for her daughter.”

Although the Dawson’s Creek alum is hot on the dating scene, you won’t see her on Hinge anytime soon. “She’s definitely not at the stage where she needs to start swiping — eligible men are falling at her feet,” says the source. “She’s already been on at least three successful dates, but she’s keeping her options open.” The insider also added that she would be open to having more children, but she is on the quest to find “Mr. Right.”

The insider also shared that Katie is thriving in her newfound freedom and having so much fun with fashion. Her outfits are noticeably revamped and super chic. She was a sight for sore eyes at Milan and New York Fashion Weeks and made headlines when she stepped out in a cashmere bra top and matching cardigan. “Katie’s genuinely excited about where she’s at in life,” the insider said, “and it’s fun that everyone is talking about how amazing she looks. It’s really boosted her confidence. She’s feeling on top of the world!”
