Kanye West’s Stepfather Says He ‘Wouldn’t Be Married To Kim’ If His Mother Was Still Alive

This is pretty harsh. Kanye West‘s stepfather, Ulysses Blakeley, told DailyMailTV that Kanye “wouldn’t be married to Kim” if his mother Donda was still alive. And if that wasn’t rough enough, he had a whole lot more to say about the situation too.

Ulysses told the outlet, “If Donda was alive he wouldn’t be married to Kim Kardashian because Donda would have interacted with Kim and Kanye, so as to expose the incompatibility of their relationship. I could imagine them all at the dinner table and how uncomfortable it would be.” Yikes. He also added, “My essential take is that he is kind of alone, I don’t know who he’s hanging out with apart from the Kardashians. I don’t see anyone from before that time, confidantes or friends before he was successful, they’re not there. It seems like he doesn’t have that connection back to a trustworthy person, no circle of trust.” Which is definitely unfortunate, if it’s true.

The Daily Mail reported that Ulysses lived with Kanye and his mom throughout the rapper’s childhood, and he considers himself Kanye’s stepfather. And he certainly has a lot of feelings about the way the entertainer has been behaving these days, and how it all might lead back to the Kardashians.

“The people he’s created into a new family are the worst for him. They’re not artistic, Kanye is artistic. I don’t think it’s the healthiest thing for him,” Ulysses told the outlet. “What people are seeing is isolation, the lack of meaningful emotional and intellectual connection, there’s no one who is remotely his peer. It’s like he’s a prisoner in solitary. You can talk to the guards, but it’s you that’s alone in the room. The guards don’t love you.” Ouch. He’s really not holding back, is he?

And when it comes to Kanye’s recent outbursts and controversies, Ulysses had an opinion on that too. “Anyone dealing with unresolved grief is going to have some issues. I think that some of the things he does that dismays is just part of the incalculable loss he suffered [of his mother]. I don’t think it’s a mental health issue.”

Donda died in 2007 after complications from an elective, cosmetic surgery. Kanye definitely seemed close to her, and it’s tough for anyone to lose a parent they’re close with. But whether that has anything to do with the rapper’s reputation for trouble lately, or how Donda would feel about Kim and the rest of the KarJenner clan, is really anyone’s guess.
