Kanye West Posts Video Peeing on His Grammy Amid Twitter Rant: ‘I Won’t Stop’

Rapper Kanye West shared a video of himself peeing on his Grammy, which sat in a toilet, amid a Twitter rant on Wednesday, September 16. 

“Trust me … I won’t stop,” the “Runaway” artist, 43, captioned the video. The 8-second long clip showed him whizzing on the trophy. All that could be seen of West was his pair of black-and-white Yeezy sneakers. The Chicago native has amassed 21 Grammys throughout his career.

The “Fade” artist started out the day by calling out record label Universal for the “ten contracts” he’s under. “I forgive everyone from the music industry that is involved with modern-day slavery. Vengeance is only the lord’s,” he wrote prior to putting his Grammy in the toilet. 

“This moment is going to change the music industry for good,” West then tweeted before sharing pages and pages of his extensive contracts. “I feel so humbled and blessed that God has put me in a strong enough position to do this … Everyone keep praying … it’s working … I am on my knees this morning.”

“Whew … that was a lot, guys,” West wrote after sharing various agreements with labels Roc-A-Fella Records and Def Jam Music Group. “I wonder if Universal gonna call me … I promise I have more ideas … I will not stop. I PROMISE YOU ON GOD,” he continued while adding, “all the musicians will be free.” West also shared the personal phone number of Randall Lane, content officer and editor of Forbes.

The “I Love It” rapper clarified he was upset because of the “hidden fees” and “distribution fees” that “many labels put in their contracts to make even more money off our work without even trying.” He wrote, “A standard record deal is a trap to NEVER have you recoup.”

In a later tweet, West seemingly recruited the help of other singers and musicians, including Bono, Drake, Kendrick Lamar and Taylor Swift, who have been outspoken about the rights of artists. 

Kim Kardashian has not responded to her husband’s latest tirade following his Twitter rant in July, where he accused her and Kris Jenner of trying to “lock him up” and said he wanted a divorce. He has since publicly apologized to his wife.

One person who rallied behind West is Hit-Boy (real name Chauncey Alexander Hollis). Although he said he hasn’t “been a fan of Kanye on a personal/human level” since they stopped working together, he agreed with his sentiments about big label contracts. 

“[Universal Music Publishing] has held me in what the last three lawyers I’ve hired have referred to as the ‘worst publishing contract they’ve ever seen’ since I was 19 years old. I’m 33 now and have multiple Grammys … [UMPG] still doesn’t have it in them to simply be fair,” the producer wrote on his own social media. 

Time will tell what Kanye does next, since he made it clear he “won’t stop.”
