Kaitlynn Carter Discusses Open Relationship Rumors With Ex Brody Jenner on ‘The Hills’: ‘We Were Crazy’

Getting candid. Kaitlynn Carter addressed those open relationship rumors with her then-husband, Brody Jenner, during the Monday, September 2, episode of The Hills: New Beginnings. After the handsome hunk, 36, talked about his “unconventional” marriage on a podcast, the 30-year-old blonde beauty discussed how she was feeling with her friends Ashley Wahler and Whitney Port. “I’m hearing people are talking about me and Brody and our personal life, saying we have an open relationship,” she said.

The show cut to a flashback of Kaitlynn and Brody FaceTiming from their bedroom with their friend Liz who claimed Stephanie Pratt is telling people the former flames were in a “polyamorous relationship.” However, The Princes of Malibu alum defended his marriage, saying, “That’s none of her business. We like what we like.”

Later on, the blogger seemingly alluded that her relationship with Brody was a bit different than your typical marriage. “When Brody and I first were together, we were younger, we were crazy. We were, like, you know, basically just trying to have the time of our lives,” she said in her confessional. “So, we did a lot of things in our relationship that, you know, I certainly wouldn’t say I regret, but the level of gossip that I feel happens in the group — it just makes me angry.”

However, Ashley, 30, didn’t seem to have any sympathy for Kaitlynn. “Seriously, Brody’s actually the one that said they had an open relationship on a national podcast,” she said. “Does she really think people aren’t going to gossip about that? Of course people are talking about it!”

But Whitney, 34, had Kaitlynn’s back. “I would not like people talking about my marriage behind my back, especially if I wasn’t that close with them. I think that Brody and Kaitlynn’s relationship is their business,” she explained. “How they want to portray it to everybody else should be on their terms. Passing judgment on it, I think, is immature.”

Ultimately, Brody and Kaitlynn called it quits in August. It’s no surprise that the two went their separate ways since they were never on the same page when it came to having kids. “In the end, we have decided we really don’t need to be in a rush,” she confessed. “Honestly, I think it’s better for me and Brody’s relationship because it just is taking some of that pressure and tension away.”

Since then, Kaitlynn has moved on with Miley Cyrus — the two were first spotted canoodling and making out during their Italian vacation in August — while Brody is currently dating model Josie Canseco. “If you didn’t know better, you’d think Brody and Josie were dating for some time now,” a source exclusively told In Touch. “Their chemistry is off the charts. She’s a lot younger than him, she’s super sexy, and he’s really good looking. They can’t keep their hands off each other. They’re clearly a good match.”
