Kaitlynn Carter Wanted Kids With Ex Brody Jenner Before Split: ‘There’s Never Going to Be a Perfect Time’

Different timelines. Brody Jenner and his estranged wife, Kaitlynn Carter, didn’t see eye to eye when it came to having kids. During the Monday, August 19, episode of The Hills: New Beginnings, the former flames went to the OBGYN to talk about their future offspring.

“Brody and I got married in June. I turned 30, so we’re just kind of at this point in our life where we’re starting to talk about having kids,” she told the doctor. “I think part of it is I’m a little stressed with getting older with what it will be like realistically if we wait longer to have kids.”

Meanwhile, the 35-year-old handsome hunk wasn’t super into the idea of being a father quite yet. The blonde beauty admitted they “are on different pages” about wanting children in her confessional. “He always tells me that he thinks within the next year things will be a little bit better,” she added. “How many years are we going to say this? There’s never going to be the perfect time to have kids, but I want to have them, so why not now?”

The blogger and the DJ recently called it quits after five years together. “They love and respect one another and know that this is the best decision for their relationship moving forward,” Brody’s rep Scott Newman told In Touch in a statement on August 2.

But it’s no surprise that the duo couldn’t make things work since they were always arguing throughout the current season of the MTV reboot. In the first episode, Kaitlynn made it clear that she wanted to have babies with her man, but Brody was never into the idea. “While I don’t have kids, I’m gonna pretty much do what I wanna do and live for myself, as opposed to live for another human being,” he said. “I think that’s why she wants kids — she wants to change in that way.”

Since the breakup, Kaitlynn has moved on with pop star Miley Cyrus — who is also recently separated from her estranged husband, Liam Hemsworth. The two were spotted canoodling and kissing while they were on vacation in Italy. However, it seems like Brody has nothing but love for his ex. After people called out Kaitlynn for developing feelings for someone else, the MTV personality defended the New Hampshire native.

“There is far too much negativity being directed at someone who I love and care about very much. I feel the need to set the story straight,” he wrote on Instagram on August 16. “Kaitlynn and I have been best friends for six years, and we continue to be. We, like many others before us and many after us, grew in different directions over those same six years. Kaitlynn is a wonderful person, beautiful and fun to be with, always a positive force in my life. We decided the best move for both of us was to keep our love for each other strong but move forward separately with our lives. I respect Kaitlynn and care deeply about her. She deserves to be able to move forward in her life with respect and happiness.”

It seems like Miley’s mom, Tish Cyrus, is also a fan of Kaitlynn. “They’ve actually met a few times,” a source exclusively told In Touch. “Tish met Kaitlynn a month or so ago in the U.K., and they’ve also all met up in L.A. before Miley and Liam announced the split. Tish has given her seal of approval and really likes Kaitlynn and thinks she’s fun. Tish’s main priority is Miley’s happiness.”

Well, it seems like things worked out for the best.
