‘Teen Mom 2’ Star Kailyn Lowry Reveals She Considered Abortion With Baby No. 4: ‘I Couldn’t Do It’

For Kailyn Lowry, having baby No. 4 wasn’t an easy decision. The Teen Mom 2 star reveals she “struggled with finding out” she was expecting again in an exclusive interview with In Touch, and considered getting an abortion before deciding to continue her pregnancy.

“I went to the abortion appointment and, I just decided I wasn’t going to go through with it and I couldn’t do it,” the MTV alum, 28, exclusively tells In Touch. 

Kailyn says her strained relationship with Chris Lopez played a factor in her choice because she just wanted the best for their child. 

“I just was thinking about how, how it was going to affect my kids and what that looked like,” she explains about their coparenting dynamic. “You know, we went through so much when we had Lux and, you know, surrounding that whole pregnancy. And even up until now that it was like, how could I do this again?”

The Pothead Haircare founder says that was really hard for her, especially because she didn’t want to repeat the “mistakes” she has made with her exes. “Ultimately … I wanted more kids and that was still something that mattered to me. And this was a full sibling for Lux and I’m, I am capable of raising another child on my own,” she adds.

In upcoming episodes of TM2, Kailyn opens up about her pregnancy journey with son Creed, and viewers will get to see her internal struggle. The podcast host admits she recently had an hour-long conversation with her producer to discuss how fans are going to react to her being so candid about a taboo topic.

“I think that people are going to look at it as like, how could she get on national television and talk about potentially having an abortion?” the mother of four tells In Touch. “When, really, it was more than that. For me, it’s not just, you know, get an abortion or don’t, there’s a lot that goes into the decision. There’s a lot that surrounded the pregnancy that really, really affected the way that I was thinking and how I could possibly move forward in either decision.”

Kailyn says she is “actually really afraid of how people are gonna perceive it,” but she hopes to “help somebody in the process.”

“Maybe they’ll look at my situation and, and, and have hope and, and have an answer for themselves,” she continues. “So that’s kind of why I tried to be as transparent as I could.”

Kailyn welcomed baby No. 4 in July, her second son shared with ex Chris. They were already proud parents of Lux. She also has Isaac shared with ex Jo Rivera, and Lincoln shared with ex Javi Marroquin.

The TV personality knows there will always be haters jumping at the opportunity to criticize her life and parenting, but she chooses to “not pay attention” to them. “I know that the people in my everyday life are supportive in whatever I choose to do,” Kailyn says. “And, and that’s all I can really focus on.”
