Turpin 2.0? 10 Children Rescued After Years of “Sadistic” Torture by Their Parents

When police returned a missing 12-year-old boy to his home in Fairfield, CA, they were shocked by what they found next. Nine more children, ages 4 months to 11 years, were living in "squalor and unsafe conditions." Garbage, rotten food, and animal and human feces were found strewn throughout the house, Lt. Greg Hurlbut said during a news conference Monday.

He added that the children described various incidents of "intentional abuse." They suffered puncture wounds, bruises, and burns consistent with getting shot with a pellet or BB gun, according to the department.

The mother, identified by police as Ina Rogers, 30, was arrested and charged with child neglect. She was released after posting $10,000 bail on April 9.

"I strive, I thrive on being a good parent to my children," Ina said. "My husband has a lot of tattoos. He looks like a scary individual, and that's why people are so quick to judge him. But my husband is an amazing person. I am an amazing mother."

An arrest warrant was issued for Ina's husband, Jonathan Allen, 29, and he was arrested Friday and booked on nine counts of felony torture and six counts of felony child abuse. He was arraigned Monday and is being held at the Solano County Jail on $1.5 million bail.

"There's no broken bones, there is no major scars, nothing," Ina continued. "My kids get bumped and bruised and scratched because they're kids but that's it."

She added that all of her children were living in one room because they wanted to and claimed that her house was a mess because she was looking for her son, who was reported missing on March 31. All 10 children have since been removed from the home and are in the protective custody of Solano County Child Welfare Services.
