’90 Day Fiancé’ Star Jon Explains Why He Didn’t Meet Rachel at the Airport When She Arrived in England

He better have a good excuse! 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days fans were pissed with the way Jon Walters and Rachel Bear‘s meeting went down. After a year and a half of dating online, Rachel traveled all the way from Albuquerque to London with her eight-month-old daughter in order to meet Jon in person for the first time. But Jon wasn’t waiting for Rachel in Heathrow airport — instead, he made Rachel take a train to Paddington Station with her baby girl and her luggage in tow. Now, Jon is offering up an explanation.

“Jon, why couldn’t you meet Rachel at the airport knowing that it was her first time traveling to you and especially having am eight-month-old?” one curious fan asked on Instagram, and Jon replied, “I can’t tell you why but she wasn’t alone. And the arrivals lounge has its own train station and I was one stop 10 mins [sic] away. I know it looks like I’m a tool — but there was a reason.”

His lady backed him up in the commented. “We can’t talk about certain things at the moment, but there is a very good reason for it,” Rachel wrote.

And honestly, it seemed like Rachel didn’t care that her man wasn’t waiting for her at the airport because just seconds after she laid eyes on him, they were caught up in pretty steamy makeout session — even though viewers watched Jon puke twice on the sidewalk just before he arrived at the train station. At least he brushed his teeth afterward.

At least Rachel didn’t have to travel much further after getting off the plane, because the Heathrow Express train can transport passengers from the airport to Paddington Station in just 15 minutes. As for the reason why Jon couldn’t meet her at the airport, it seems like it may or may not have to do with filming laws in England. Either way, Jon and Rachel teased that the reason will be revealed later this season, so fans will just have to tune in to find out!
