Jon Gosselin Shares Update on Relationship With His 6 Other Kids: ‘We’re Not Really Communicating’

Former Jon and Kate Plus 8 star Jon Gosselin shared an update on his relationship with his other six children in a tell-all interview set to air on Monday, May 18. “We’re not really communicating right now,” the 43-year-old told Entertainment Tonight.

“I’m not stopping them from coming together,” he continued. Jon shares eight children with ex-wife Kate Gosselin — 16-year-old sextuplets Collin, Hannah, Alexis, Joel, Leah and Aaden plus 19-year-old twins Mady and Cara. As of 2018, Jon has custody of Collin and Hannah, who live with him full-time. Kate, 45, has custody of Joel, Leah, Alexis and Aaden. They live with their mom, along with Mady and Cara.

Jon and Kate have been involved in a nasty custody battle ever since their divorce in 2009, and the recent custody changes have added more tension to their tumultuous relationship.

Thankfully, the father “does talk to his other children” and “those relationships are healing” over time, a source exclusively told In Touch on May 13. “Jon is doing his best,” the insider added, “He has high hopes that his entire family will all be on good terms. He loves all of his kids.”

Although Jon knows “he wasn’t always perfect” as a parent, he is now “trying to do his best and be there for his kids, all of them,” the insider said. Sadly, it doesn’t look like Kate can say the same. “As far as I know, Kate has stepped back from Hannah and Collin,” the source revealed.

Collin and Kate have a particularly strained relationship ever since the mother sent him to a facility for children with special needs in 2015. He was finally released in 2018 and immediately moved in with Jon, who has since denied Collin “is on any spectrum.” As a result of his three-year stay at the facility, the teen is not interested in “trying to repair” his relationship with his mother.

Despite his tainted bond with Kate, Collin has found a maternal figure in Jon’s longtime girlfriend, Colleen Conrad. He even gave her a shout-out on Mother’s Day and seemingly snubbed Kate. “Thank you doesn’t say enough. I love you so much, and you’ve done so much for me that [makes] you my strong, happy, loving and awesome mother figure. You’re irreplaceable,” he wrote via Instagram on May 10.

Hopefully, the Gosselin family will reunite sooner than later.
