Jinger and Joy-Anna Duggar Address ‘Drama’ After They Both Gave Daughters the Same Nickname

Jinger Vuolo (née Duggar) and sister and Joy-Anna Forsyth (née Duggar) revealed their decisions to give their daughters the same nickname — “Evy” — has resulted in some confusion over the years.

“There is some drama, with the name, well it’s not really drama … but it was a funny incident with Evy when you named Evelyn … tell that story,” Jinger’s husband, Jeremy Vuolo, told sister-in-law Joy-Anna, 27, on the Wednesday, February 26, episode of “The Jinger and Jeremy” podcast.

“We’ve had two people in the last week be like, ‘Oh there’s two Evys!’ Because especially when we get when we’re together we get asked,” Joy-Anna shared.

Joy-Anna and husband Austin Forsyth welcomed daughter Evelyn Mae Forsyth on August 21, 2020. Jinger, 31, gave birth to daughter Evangeline Jo Vuolo on November 22, 2020.

Jinger explained. “Y’all kept your Evy, her name was a secret until she was born, and she was born about six months before our Evy. When she was born you sent a video to the family, and you said, … ‘First, we’re going to tell you the nickname name. It’s Evy.'”

“When you sent that video, I’ll never forget, we look at each other, like ‘Oh my goodness,'” Jeremy, 37, added about he and his then-pregnant wife’s reaction.

Jeremy and Jinger ended up calling Joy-Anna and Austin, 31, to ask if it was alright if their daughters’ nicknames would be the same.

“We did not care at all, but I do remember y’all calling me and I was like, ‘That’s so great. It’s going to be confusing, but it’s going to be awesome,” Joy-Anna shared.

Jinger and Jeremy are currently expecting baby No. 3. The couple also share a daughter, Felicity Nicole, who was born on July 19, 2018.

“We’re super excited,” Jinger told People on October 15, 2024, when revealing her pregnancy.

The Counting On alum then admitted she was thrilled that she wasn’t going to be pregnant during the hot summer months. “I’m actually all about it. Especially in the heat the past few days, I think I’m not super big pregnant and so I’m not having to worry about the extra heat,” she explained. “I’m like, ‘Oh man, this is going to be such an awesome thing to go through pregnancy, not in the summer.’”

Jeremy revealed he was “shocked” over the pregnancy even though the couple “were expecting” it.

“When she told me, I was literally speechless,” he said. “She got me good. It was on Felicity’s birthday. Jinger says, ‘I’ve got a gift for you.’ It was in an Amazon bag. So I’m thinking, ‘What did she get from Amazon for me?’ Then I open it up and it’s the positive result, and I’m actually speechless.”

As Jinger gets ready to become a mother of three, she’s turning to Joy-Anna for advice, as she already has three children. In addition to Evelyn, she and Austin share sons Gideon, 6, and Gunner, 20 months.

“I’ve been talking to Joy a lot because we’re kind of in the same season. She has three kids and I’m going on three kids,” the Becoming Free Indeed author told People on February 9. “And so we chat a ton, just FaceTime calls or just to catch up.”

Jinger noted that even though Joy-Anna is four years younger than her, she “feels like she’s an older sister,” thanks to her great advice.
