Rachael Ray has fans talking after a new video left some viewers concerned, with several saying they hardly recognized the longtime chef and TV personality.
In the clip, shared to Instagram on Thursday, July 9, Ray, 57, was seen sharing her philosophy on seasoning, calling the hand “the original measuring spoon.”
And though Ray appeared to be gearing up to season a tray of meat for what would presumably be another tasty meal from the former Food Network star, it’s not the food that has fans talking.
Instead, commenters were quick to point out that the cooking connoisseur looked different than fans remember her.

“I didn’t even recognize her,” one commenter wrote, with another blaming her measuring technique for her seemingly puffier appearance: “Omg….she swelled up, too much salt..didn’t measure correctly.”
“I haven’t seen her in SO LONG. I’m genuinely wondering.. is she okay?” another added.
Another commenter, meanwhile, seemed convinced it wasn’t actually Ray in the video, writing, “That is not Rachael Ray.”
It’s a sentiment that seems to be shared by a few fans, in fact, with one commenting, “Rachael Ray is that really you?” and another adding, “That’s not her.”
The new video comes after Ray dropped a notable amount of weight back in March, amid concerns for her health. In photos from a trip to the Bahamas, Ray showed off her slimmer figure and received praise from fans for her healthier appearance, with some calling it the best she’s ever looked.
“She looks great!” one fan wrote, with another adding, “You look stunning and happy RR!”

And while the comments on Ray’s recent video weren’t all bad, with many saying they were happy to see her in the kitchen, they’re not the first of their kind. Back in September 2024, fans questioned what appeared to be slurred speech from Ray in a clip from her cooking show, Rachael Ray in Tuscany.
Ray didn’t address fans’ concerns after the video, and instead filtered the comments; it’s unclear whether she will do the same for her recent video, as comments continue to trickle in.
