‘Counting On’ Star Jeremy Vuolo Slammed for His Dated Views on LGBTQ Community

Many people praise Jinger Duggar and husband Jeremy Vuolo for their seemingly liberal ways. The Counting On stars have their own style, shoot guns, and gasp! don’t have a baby yet, despite being married for almost a year — something almost unheard of in the conservative family. Yet recently the pair sparked controversy when Jeremy spoke out against homosexuality. During a recent sermon, the Texas pastor referenced a gun to illustrate his theory on why many Christians have chosen to remain silent about LGBTQ issues.

In a video that was recently posted on the Grace Community Church Laredo YouTube page, Jeremy said, “All you have to do is look at the sexual revolution pressuring them, and they cave in to a worldview that rejects God’s truth and embraces popular opinion,” he explained. “Do you want to see the gun? Do you want to see the threatening of being burned alive?… Look at the revolution of popular thought. Look at the postmodernism of today’s culture. Look at the sexual revolution. Look at the false idea of tolerance. Look at the false definition of love.”

Jeremy has always felt strongly about the trend of preachers becoming more accepting of the LGBTQ community. In a previous sermon, he shamed a fellow pastor for saying that he would consider officiating a same-sex wedding. He also claimed that the Duggars’ decision to stop sharing their controversial views on homosexuality — after the Josh Duggar molestation scandal — was a mistake. The woman who outed Josh for sexually molesting his younger sisters did so because she was disgusted by his anti-LGBTQ views.

Earlier this month, Jeremy’s wife was dubbed a “birth control rebel” for not having any children yet, though it isn’t confirmed that she’s actually on birth control. The Duggars have always been vocal when it comes to their disdain for contraception — but that wasn’t always the case. After welcoming their oldest child, Michelle was on birth control, only to find out she was pregnant. She and husband Jim Bob later lost the baby, and they attributed the miscarriage to birth control. “As conservative Christians, we believe every life is sacred, even the life of the unborn. Due to our lack of knowledge, we destroyed the precious life of our unborn child. We prayed and studied the Bible and found a host of references that told us God considered children a gift, a blessing, and a reward,” the family explained. Watch the video below for more.
