If Jenelle Evans thought her gig on Teen Mom 2 was safe following husband David Eason‘s firing… she might want to think again. The reality star has been one of the core members of the MTV show since 2011. But, in light of the controversy caused by David’s recent homophobic comments, fans are now calling on sponsors to pull their advertisements until Jenelle is fired as well.
One particularly impassioned fan recently took to Twitter under the username “@SP1LL1NGtea.” The user is encouraging sponsors who run ads during the TM2 time-slot to cease their support of the show altogether. @SP1LL1NGtea is contacting every company who advertises on the show in hopes that the companies will pull their funding and force MTV to fire Jenelle.

“You need to stop running your ads during @MTV’s show Teen Mom 2 & Teen Mom OG, @SP1LL1NGtea tweeted to Garnier USA. “As long as Jenelle Evans’ is employed. She is a cancer to society. She has been arrested numerous times, abuses her kids & pets, is a drug addict (also while pregnant), wished death on a soldier & supported her husband on an anti-LGBTQ stance. I, along with many others, will no longer purchase your product, if you continue to support a show with this person on it.”
User @SP1LL1NGtea has also contacted brands including but not limited to Papa John’s Pizza, Oreo Cookies, Office Depot, and Dove to pressure them to cut all ties with the controversial star. Already companies like Nutro Company and Cesar Canine Cuisine have pulled their ads from the show.
MTV announced David Eason was fired from future production of TM2 on Feb 20 in a statement reading, “David Eason’s personal comments do not reflect the views of MTV. With six weeks left of production on Teen Mom 2, effective immediately, we are ending our relationship with him.” Although TM2 co-star Kailyn Lowry exclusively told In Touch that she’s happy MTV “drew the line,” some fans don’t feel that only firing David was enough.
“@MTV @MTVPress is exploiting the LGBT community and school shooting victims for profit and ratings??The firing of David is a JOKE if his partner continues to profit?? Every day that Janelle Evans is employed on #TeenMom2 is a slap in the face of a community??#DavidEason,” one fan tweeted. So, will MTV respond to their justifiably angry fans and finally fire Jenelle? If advertisers continue to pull their support, it’s definitely a possibility.
