They just can’t seem to catch a break. Shortly after The Little Couple stars Jen Arnold and Bill Klein revealed that their neighborhood in Houston was greatly impacted by Hurricane Harvey, the reality stars have revealed that their new home in Florida has been designated a mandatory evacuation zone ahead of Hurricane Irma, scheduled to make landfall this weekend. Jen has been sharing regular updates on Instagram and revealed that she and her husband were on the road with their two children — Will and Zoey — and now they’ve safely arrived at their destination.
In a series of six updates from the passenger seat, while Bill drove their car, Jen explained that she packed up her family and they headed west to get out of the hurricane’s projected path of destruction. During their drive, they encountered heavy traffic and they also had difficulty finding gas as all of the gas stations in the area were empty because so many others were fleeing by car as well.

“We made it to my parents’ house at about 4 a.m., everyone’s a little tired but we are hopefully in a very safe place away from Irma,” she said in her most recent Instagram update. “We’ll be spending time with my parents and we’ll be checking in on all of our family and friends who are still down in central Florida.”
Jen — a neonatalogist — recently uprooted her family to St. Petersburg, FL, after accepting a new position at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. “I’m thrilled to return home to Florida. The opportunity at Johns Hopkins All Children’s is a perfect fit for me, my husband, and two kids, and professionally with the growing education and research resources at the hospital,” she said when the move was announced.
As Jen and her family embarked on the road to escape the path of the frightening Category-5 storm, fans took to Facebook to share their well wishes with Jen — and some even opened their doors to the reality stars, who are returning to the small screen Sept. 19. “Hotels are booked, roads are crazy, but we live in central Florida in a brick, sturdy home on a hill so no flooding and you are more than welcome to bring your family here,” one generous fan wrote. Another wrote, “Hope you’re all safe. Please keep us updated as you have. And God bless all who are dealing with this storm.”
Jen and Bill and their children, along with many other Floridians, were urged to evacuate since Gov. Rick Scott declared a state of emergency on Monday, Sept. 4. “While we do not yet know the exact path of Irma, major impacts to Florida are potentially possible and we cannot wait to take aggressive preparedness actions,” Gov. Scott said at a press conference. “I continue to urge all Floridians to remain vigilant, stay tuned into local weather alerts and have a disaster plan in place today.”
