Ali Fedotowsky spent this season of The Bachelorette eliminating the guys she thought were wrong for her. But, somewhere along the way, she made a huge mistake. While much has already been said about Frank Neuschaefer’s abrupt exit to go back to his secret ex-girlfriend, Nicole Caruso, this season, In Touch has learned why it was so easy for him. “People think, ‘Oh, you signed up for this, you need to love her.’ But no, absolutely not. And Frank didn’t think they would fall in love,” a source tells In Touch. “He followed his heart and did what was best for him — and ultimately what’s best for Ali, too.” Frank considered Ali his girlfriend, says a source. So when producers refused to let him break up with her properly so he could reunite with his ex, Nicole, they set her up for heartbreak. “They betrayed her,” says the source. Now, months after that fateful night in Tahiti, In Touch has caught Frank and Nicole on a romantic coffee break near their home in Chicago. The source even says, “Nicole’s the one. He’s going to propose.”
