Gone, but not forgotten. Granger Smith is honoring his son, River Kelly Smith, by selling a tribute T-shirt available for $21.99 after the toddler’s tragic death on June 6. The sales will help other kids in the future as all of the proceeds will go to directly to the Dell Children’s Medical Center.

The top has a lot of sentimental value, because the “shirt has a Yee Yee Excavator on it (Riv’s favorite thing to do was watch excavators scoop up dirt) and is red — Riv’s favorite color.”

A red t shirt with a crane on it.

River, 3, has clearly made a lasting impact on so many people. “He was cared for by the wonderful staff at Dell Children’s before he passed away,” according to the website selling the tops, Yee Yee Apparel. The heartfelt description continues, “Dell Children’s is the only dedicated freestanding pediatric facility in Central Texas and serves 46 counties and then some. We feel like it’s only right to give something back to the people who were so good to the Granger Smith family.”

Granger, 39, broke the devastating news about his son in a message shared via social media on June 6, and several heartbroken fans shared their condolences in the comment section. “Following a tragic accident, and despite doctor’s best efforts, he was unable to be revived,” the singer wrote about his pride and joy at the time. Granger added, “Amber and I made the decision to say our last goodbyes and donate his organs so that other children will be given a second chance at life.”

The songwriter expressed how incredibly difficult this unthinkable loss will be for his family, noting how River’s light “will be forever in our hearts.” Granger added, “Love the ones close to you.”

River’s cause of death was later revealed to be an accidental drowning at the family’s home located in Georgetown, Texas. So far, the T-shirts made in his honor have already garnered over $100,000 in sales and it’s still counting. We’re keeping the Smith family in our hearts during this tough time.
