Drake Is Being Trolled Over His New Tattoo of The Beatles: ‘That’s So Tacky and Cocky’

He did say, “I got more slaps than The Beatles.” Now that Drake has beaten The Beatles for charted songs on the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10, it looks like the 32-year-old made an ode to his iconic line with some new ink. The artist’s new tat is raising some eyebrows as it depicts the famous “Abbey Road” album cover, but with the addition of his silhouette in front of John Lennon. Fans are not happy about the self-touting move.

“I love Drake but that’s so tacky and cocky lmfao it’s not that deep,” wrote one Twitter user under a photo of the tat captured by a fan, comparing the ink to the memorable image. The side by side comparison sparked a lively debate. “It is that deep mans surpassed The Beatles that’s no small achievement,” read one reply while another stated, “They still have more number 1s. Impacted music more than he did. And let’s not forget in their time features weren’t even a mainlined concept like they are today.” Another comment read, “The Beatles will always be better than him plain and simple. Musically and fame.”

Some fans went on to compare the Drake vs. Beatles controversy to Madonna vs. Lady Gaga. “S–t while we at it, Madonna will always be better than Lady Gaga,” one wrote, to which another user replied, “At least Gaga doesn’t compare herself to Madonna and [get] a tattoo of her saying she’s more successful than her.”

Although the “God’s Plan” singer has yet to publicly show off his forearm accessory, it is pretty visible and easy for fans to spot. The stud beat the inspirational band by one track for the record of most Top 10 songs. Drake now has 35 charted songs while The Beatles had 34. Only time will tell if the rapper will keep adding music’s best artists up his arm as he keeps breaking barriers in hip-hop.
