Well that was quick! Chrissy Teigen, 31, recently revealed that she and hubby John Legend, 38, would soon be trying for baby No. 2 via in vitro fertilization. And now, “Chrissy is pregnant,” a source tells In Touch, explaining that Chrissy’s mom, Vilailuck Teigen, let the news slip on the set of Chrissy’s show Lip Sync Battle.
“Chrissy’s mom was overheard saying, ‘My daughter is so emotional these days because she’s pregnant.’” Chrissy and John — who are parents to one-year-old Luna — have been having marital issues lately, so she’s praying this baby “will keep her and John together,” says an insider. “It should give them a huge reason to make the marriage work.”
As In Touch first reported, constant fighting along with Chrissy’s battle with postpartum depression after welcoming daughter Luna in April 2016 have taken a toll on her marriage to John. (According to another source, things are so bad that the pair completed at least six months of marriage counseling.) But some friends fear a baby is the last thing Chrissy and John need right now. This baby “will just be a Band-Aid,” says the insider. “They’ll need to do a lot more work on their marriage if it’s going to last,” adding, “Chrissy loves John and wants to make her marriage work.”
Chrissy has been candid about her plans to have another kid, and recently confessed that the embryo they have remaining is a boy — meaning little Luna will have a little brother. She gushed to E! News, “Oh my God, a little boy is next for sure” and later clarified on Twitter, “”Since this is coming up again, I said our next baby would be a boy because that is the embryo we have left. A boy. So. Yeah.”
