“Baby Lo” turned one month old yesterday, and although it appears that Chris Lopez is a fairly hands-on dad, he still refuses to be filmed on Teen Mom 2. Kailyn Lowry‘s third baby daddy has expressed his disinterest in being filmed in the past, and apparently, he hasn’t changed his mind.
A source close to the pair exclusively told Hollywood Life, “Chris continues to not want to be on the current season and he is avoiding the cameras around Kailyn and the baby for now.” They added, “He does not want his child to know him as a reality star. Despite the repeated offers for money by the network, Chris prefers to keep a low-profile when the cameras are rolling. Chris is around, however, and helping with the baby.”

Although it sounds like things are going well for the former couple, a report surfaced last week that stated the first-time dad was vying for custody of the newborn. A source previously told Hollywood Life that Chris’ mother encouraged him “to apply for full-time custody of her grandchild. Chris has no desire to try and take his kid away from Kailyn, but his mom is concerned about visitation rights.” This allegedly doesn’t sit well with Kailyn, who “is so shocked and disgusted that Chris would even consider trying for custody; it’s unbelievable to her,” a second insider told the outlet.
Yikes! Yet considering the reality star mama was afraid he wouldn’t be around at all, we’re happy to hear he’s helping. In fact, another insider close to the couple said, “They are both a bit overwhelmed with the new baby and have not been getting enough sleep. But he is there and doing what he feels is the right thing. Kailyn is happy that he is present and helping with diapers and late night feedings, so all is well with them… for now at least.” We’re so happy to hear!
