On the second episode of Investigation Discovery’s Casey Anthony: An American Murder Mystery, viewers were reminded of the shocking molestation claims that Casey had against her father. Her lawyer, Jose Baez, accused her father of sexual abuse and used Casey’s alleged history as a victim to try to explain why she lied about the death and disappearance of her daughter, two-year-old Caylee Anthony.

Did George Anthony molest Casey?

In his opening defense, Casey’s lawyer Jose alleged that Casey's father George had molested her since she was eight years old. He used Casey’s alleged sexual abuse as a reason why she lied about Caylee’s disappearance and whereabouts — because Jose alleged that Caylee actually died on June 16, 2008 and George helped Casey cover up her death and dispose of his granddaughter’s remains.

The claims have never been confirmed nor denied, but George has vehemently denied those allegations — both while on the witness stand and in a recent statement released last month — and Casey has been estranged from her parents since the 2011 trial. They haven't spoken in years.

Did they find Caylee Anthony’s remains?

Sadly, yes. The two-year-old’s skull and bones were found in a wooded area by former meter reader Roy Kronk — just a quarter of a mile away from the Anthony family’s home. She was also found with a trash bag, a canvas bag, and a children’s blanket featuring a Winnie-the-Pooh design. Her remains were found six months after she was last seen alive by her maternal grandmother, Cindy Anthony.

Was Casey Anthony found guilty?

Casey was found guilty, but not of the murder of her two-year-old daughter. Instead, she was found guilty on four counts of providing false information to law enforcement. But she was acquitted on the more serious charges — which included first-degree murder, aggravated manslaughter, and aggravated child abuse in the death of little Caylee.

Where is Casey Anthony now in 2017?

She currently lives in South Florida with Patrick Mckenna — the private detective who was the lead investigator on her defense team during her 2008 trial. She also works for him, providing social media searches and other research work for his current cases.

Did Jose Baez and Casey Anthony have an affair?

Last year, Casey filed for bankruptcy and in an affidavit, her former private investigator Dominic Casey alleged that Casey and Jose had a sexual relationship before Jose represented her in her trial. But Jose vehemently denied the allegations in a statement provided to People.

“I unequivocally and categorically deny exchanging sex for my legal services with Ms. Anthony,” Jose wrote in his statement. “I further unequivocally and categorically deny having any sexual relationship with Ms. Anthony whatsoever.”
