Try Not to Gag Watching Caitlyn Jenner Eat Something Horrifying on ‘I’m A Celebrity …’

Yuck! During a competition on Caitlyn Jenner’s new U.K. reality show I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!, the 72-year-old had to eat a cow’s eye, and yes, it is as gruesome as it sounds.

The reality star gave it her best effort and held her ponytail back with one hand as she ate up. For many, it might be hard to watch Caitlyn chow down on something so unsightly, pun intended. One of those people is Caitlyn’s mother, Esther.

“She was on one survivor program here in the United States, I never watched it, I didn’t even know [she] was going to be on it, and I didn’t care for the format,” the 93-year-old told In Touch exclusively explaining how danger shows aren’t her cut of tea. “I know it’s very popular in England and Australia, I don’t know maybe people like to see other people uncomfortable or frightened or whatever, I don’t like that. I like to see people peaceful, happy.”

The proud mama also said she doesn’t really understand what attracts Caitlyn to the competition and worries she might get injured. “I have no idea [why she’s doing this]. I don’t ask her questions to get into her mind or how she feels about this or that,” she added. “My big worry is [she may] get bitten by a snake or a poisonous insect. I’m afraid of snakes anyway, even if they’re not poisonous.”

Although Esther would prefer Caitlyn would engage in more leisurely activities, she does admit the show might do her some good. “[But] Caitlyn said you have time to reflect, you have time to look inside your mind, figure things out, [she ]said there are a lot of benefits to that exercise, it’s one heck of an exercise!” said Esther.

Esther also said it might be good for Cait to get in touch with her wild side, and clearly, she has. “Maybe she’ll learn something, that’s good for her, I approve!” she laughed. “They love her in Great Britain, she’s loved everywhere. I’ll [just] be glad to get her phone call when she’s finished.”
