Britney Spears Sparks Engagement Rumors After Rocking a Diamond Ring on That Finger
Born to make her happy? It’s no secret that Britney Spears is madly in love with her boyfriend, Sam Asghari — and now fans are convinced the 24-year-old fitness model gave the pop princess an engagement ring for her 36th birthday on Saturday, Dec. 2. If the couple are indeed engaged, the exciting news comes just a little more than a year after they started dating. Sparks first flew between Britney and Sam in the fall of 2016 when the genetically blessed duo filmed the music video for “Slumber Party,” the second single from Britney’s ninth studio album, Glory.
This past January, the superstar opened up about falling for Sam (who played her love interest in the sexy clip) during an interview on CBS Radio’s Fast in the Morning With Nathan Fast. “I think we were at, um…we were shooting. We were doing the scene where I was doing the walk scene through the hall to go through the door to go to the bedroom, and we were sitting there and waiting and waiting together for like 20 minutes at a time,” she explained. “We were having to be literally stuck there together, so we were basically forced to talk to each other.”

Despite their initial awkward vibes, Britney said that she and Sam were eventually able to bond over their shared love of sushi. “He has no idea…I mean, he knows my name but he doesn’t really know me as a person. He’s like, ‘What is this girl like?’ and I have no idea who the hell he is, you know?” she continued. “We started talking about sushi and started talking about things we like and [then said], ‘We should go to sushi one day.’”
Britney ended up exchanging digits with Sam, but waited five months to take him up on his sushi date idea. “I kept his number, and it was so weird — it was like five months later, and I found his number in my bag. I was like, ‘He is really cute. This guy is really cute,’” she recounted. “So then I called him, and ever since then, he is just a really fun, funny person.”

Britney famously dated Justin Timberlake from 1999 to 2002. After that, the “Toxic” singer had brief flings with celebs such as Fred Durst and Colin Farrell, and even married her childhood pal Jason Alexander…for 55 hours at the start of 2004. Months later, she met and fell in love with Kevin Federline during a night out at a club in Hollywood. The pair — who now share sons Sean Preston, 12, and Jayden James, 11 — tied the knot in September 2004, but finalized their divorce in July 2007.
In recent years, Britney’s dated a slew of lesser known men, including talent agent and one-time fiancé Jason Trawick, “simple man” David Lucado, and Charlie Ebersol, the son of Saturday Night Live co-creator Dick Ebersol and actress Susan Saint James. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that Sam sticks for Brit!
