Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s Daughter Vivienne Legally Files to Drop ‘Pitt’ From Last Name

Another one of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s children is making a major personal decision about their name.

According to court documents obtained by In Touch, Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, 18, filed legal paperwork on July 12 asking to remove “Pitt” from her last name. The petition requests that her legal name be changed from Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie.

The reason listed on the documents is ‘personal’ and a hearing on the petition is scheduled for November 2.

Vivienne first began distancing herself from the Pitt name two years ago: In May 2024, she was credited as ‘Vivienne Jolie’ in the Playbill for Broadway’s The Outsiders, the Tony Award-winning production she helped produce alongside her mom, per People.

Pitt, 62, and ex-wife Jolie, 51, also share Maddox, 24, Pax, 22, Zahara, 21, Shiloh, 20, and Vivienne’s 17-year-old twin Knox.

As In Touch previously reported, Zahara recently filed to change her name and has been taking the necessary next steps, which includes publishing a notice of her petition in a newspaper before a judge can approve the request.

Maddox is also legally dropping “Pitt” from his last name and is going through the same process as Zahara.

Shiloh was the first to make the move and filed to remove the surname when she turned 18 in 2024. Maddox then made the same request in May 2026.
