A judge has refused Bobby Brown‘s request for TV One’s biopic of Bobbi Kristina Brown to be blocked. Instead, the network will be allowed to air the Oct. 8 film, which Bobby claims falsely depicts him as a bad dad and abusive husband. According to Manhattan federal Judge Analisa Torres, however, his concerns that the movie defames him are “speculative” since he has neither seen the film nor read the script.
Why did Judge Analisa Torres deny Bobby Brown’s request?
The judge brought up an excerpt from his 2016 autobiography, in which he recalls smacking ex-wife Whitney Houston. “Whether Bobby Brown was a bad father is a matter of opinion,” Analisa said. She then quoted part of a line from Brown’s memoir Every Little Step in which the former New Edition singer said, “I turned around to her, drew back my hand, and smacked her (Houston) across the face.”

A representative from TV One spoke to TheJasmineBrand about the verdict and said, “Today, the court rejected a motion for a preliminary injunction filed by Bobby Brown and the Estate of Bobbi Kristina Brown that sought to enjoin the network’s airing of the original movie, Bobbi Kristina. What happened to Bobbi Kristina Brown?
On January 31, 2015, Bobbi Kristina was found face down in a bathtub. At the hospital, doctors put her into a medically-induced coma. Although the family was hoping she’d pull through, she died six months later in a hospice. Her autopsy revealed she died of Lobar pneumonia caused by the combination of water immersion and drug intoxication. However, the “cause,” whether it was accidental or homicidal, still hasn’t been determined.
