Rayne met her “Nigerian Prince Charming” five years ago by chance after a friend request popped up on social media. Unlike her previous toxic relationships with the fathers of her two children, she felt love immediately from Chidi. “In my life, I have never experienced romance at all,” she told viewers during the September 2024 premiere. “It had been probably two weeks, until I said, ‘I love you.’ And then he started giggling and laughing. And then he said, ‘I love you,’ back and then it started as an everyday thing.”

Chidi admitted he was “afraid” to tell Rayne he was blind and it wasn’t until months later that he revealed his condition. “I had sent some regular pictures of myself and he didn’t say, ‘You’re pretty.’ Nothing. But then he’s still talking to me really sweet,” she explained to producers. “So after another month or so, I sent a picture of my booty. And I still didn’t get a response.”

Chidi said Rayne “complained” about his lack of enthusiasm toward her intimate photos which forced him to finally come clean about his disability. “He thought I was gonna run away, or reject him, or not want him but it was the opposite,” the New Mexico native explained. “Knowing that Chidi fell for my heart, and my words, and my mind. And not worrying about my body and what it looks like. I felt truly respected by him.”

Chidi and Rayne Clashed Online Following ‘Before the 90 Days’ Premiere

Chidi responded to Rayne’s surprise about them sleeping in separate beds after her arrival in Nigeria via Instagram.

“The primary issue is the decision not to have sex or share a bed until we are married. While this is a decision I have made, I want to make clear that I informed Rayne about this before she came to Nigeria,” he wrote in a screenshot captured by Starcasm on September 8, 2024. “Upon hearing this, she reacted with overwhelming anger, threatening to cancel her visit and later changing her mind.”

Fans learned about Rayne’s interest in UFOs and Illuminati during the spinoff but Chidi hinted at darker beliefs. “I was also deeply concerned by some of the unsettling, alien, mystic things Rayne mentioned during our discussions,” he explained. “On one occasion, she asked if I was ready to be sacrificed and if I was prepared to be in the same room with her when vampires and cannibals would gather for their feast.”

According to the outlet, Rayne replied via Threads just 24 hours later.

“The world and God himself will have Justice upon those who spread such evil false lies against another,” she clapped back. “How dare you call me evil after leading me on for 5 years. Showing nothing but love and support. It’s about time your secrets are revealed. You never should have invited me if you never loved me. Your benefit and your money won’t come without a price.”

What Other Problems Did Chidi and Rayne Face on ‘90 Day Fiance’?

In addition to Rayne and Chidi having different expectations of intimacy, the couple did not see eye to eye on lifestyle, spirituality and more. For example, Rayne got angry at Chidi’s sister for wanting to purchase a chicken to eat for dinner because she had a chicken as a pet. However, Chidi was confused by this because Rayne was known to eat chicken in the past.

Later, while discussing how Chidi went blind — an apple hit his eye while he was looking up at a tree, and he further lost his eyesight by falling off a bench — Rayne asked if he believed it was a “spiritual” blindness. She pointed out that they would not have met if he hadn’t lost his eyesight. However, Chidi thought the comment was “odd” and said she lived in an “alternate reality” sometimes.

During the October 6, 2024, episode, Rayne took Chidi to an eye doctor to see if his eyesight could be restored. A doctor told him that he had issues with his cataracts and glaucoma, so it was unlikely that he would have full vision again.

As the season continued, Rayne became increasingly frustrated with Chidi’s sister, whom she believed had a bad energy. She felt like his sister was being too intrusive in their lives, which ultimately led to a blowup argument between Rayne, Chidi and his family members. She told Chidi that she wanted to move on with her life and that he would “never see her again.”

Chidi planned to end his relationship with Rayne during the November 3, 2024, episode. “I’ve spent the last few days praying over my relationship with Rayne and I came to the beach to tell her that I’m no more interested in this relationship,” he said in a confessional, adding that the decision was hard because he knew “how much she loves” him.

While Chidi said he went into their conversation with an open mind, the pair quickly got into a heated argument over his sister. After Rayne said she’s never been in a healthy relationship, Chidi suggested that she may be partially responsible for her past problems with love. However, she quickly fired back by denying that she had done anything wrong in her past romances.

“All you try to do is hurt others and you want to call that love? Bulls–t!” she yelled, adding that it has been her “choice” to be “alone.”

Rayne then accused Chidi of only dating her to obtain a visa, and he said he was “shocked” by the allegation. “If I really want the visa, I would have submitted. Which includes having sex with Rayne,” he said in a confessional. “But I will not sell my soul for a visa. I wanted to marry her cause I love her deeply for five years.”

The episode concluded with Chidi ending their relationship, and Rayne was devastated by the decision. “This is the worst heartbreak I’ve ever had in my entire existence,” she said in a confessional.
