‘Alaskan Bush People’ Star Ami Brown Completed Chemo — Get an Update on Her Health

It seems like Ami Brown is taking her battle with cancer very seriously. Fans have been worried about the family matriarch — who stars on the Discovery Channel's Alaskan Bush People — and the family has been keeping a low profile after Ami revealed that she had been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer earlier this year. But they've since relocated from Alaska to California so that Ami could undergo chemotherapy and radiation treatment — and now that she's completed the treatment, there is a small but hopeful update on her health.

"Ami update: She is not in the hospital, however, chemotherapy/radiation has taken its toll on her, and she is not well enough to start filming yet," read an update from the Facebook page Alaskan Bush People Exposed, which was posted on Sept. 22. "Filming has been delayed. They are still in CA except for Noah and Rain/Ruth. They were spotted in Idaho of all places!"

Ami had completed her treatment in early September and it's unclear when filming for the upcoming season of Alaksan Bush People will resume. But back in August, the mother-of-seven opened up about her decision to keep filming and documenting her battle with cancer.

"I want people to see what a big giant family we feel a part of. The world needs more of that," she told People. "I hear that there are a lot of people out in the world that have been sending me well wishes and we wanted to do this [interview] and let people see what we’re going through because there are a lot of people that are going to be told one day that they have cancer. And that’s scary. I was nervous as a cat the first time I went in for radiation. I hope if people watch the show and see what I’m going through and it will take away a lot of their fear."
