She’s Engaged! Amanda Knox’s Longtime Boyfriend Pops The Question With Sci-Fi Themed Proposal

Congratulations are in order! Amanda Knox is officially engaged to her longtime boyfriend Christopher Robinson and she shared the incredible video of him popping the question on Nov. 16. Chris pulled out all of the stops with his sci-fi themed proposal and of course, she said “yes!”

To get things started, Christopher used sound effects and props to give the impression there was a meteor strike in the backyard. As he made his way outside, Amanda asked, “What are you doing?” The two of them walked closer to the smokey crater and she started cracking up, because it was clear he had put together this epic display. Christopher was gearing up for his big moment and finally he asked, “I don’t have a ring, but I do have a big rock. Will you stay with me until the last star in the last galaxy burns out and even after that? Amanda Marie Knox, will you marry me?” The 31-year-old was starting to break down into tears and happily accepted.

“I love you. This is so cool,” she gushed. Amanda and Christopher have been dating since 2015 and she announced their big news on Instagram, captioning the video: “It was just your average Sunday night, when suddenly…” It’s now been seven years since she was released from an Italian prison after having her murder conviction overturned. Amanda was studying abroad in Perugia in 2007 when she was accused of killing her roommate, Meredith Kercher. She was sentenced to 26 years in prison and was acquitted in 2015, after spending four years behind bars. Since then, Amanda’s completely turned her life around.

Amanda recently started hosting SundanceTV and Sundance Now show The Truth About True Crime. “After surviving my own true crime saga, I tend not to be a fan of the genre, because it so often veers into sensationalism at the expense of the human beings involved and the truth, but these stories are very important when told with compassion and context,” she said. Aside from making a difference with her career, now that she’s engaged, she’s got even more to look forward to in the future.
