90 Day Fiancé star Brandan De Nucciõ left his small-town life in Eugene, Oregon, to be with his online girlfriend, Mary Rosa, in the Philippines. While TLC viewers watched Brandan dramatically say goodbye to his family at the airport during season 5 of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, did he really move permanently overseas? 

How Did 90 Day Fiance’s Mary and Brandan Meet?

Brandan met Mary on an online dating app. After sparking an instant virtual connection, the pair spoke nonstop for five days without sleep, ultimately leading to their now-obsessive habit of talking 24/7 by video call.

“Mary wants to know what I’m doing. She’s very clingy,” Brandan explained during his season 5 debut of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way in July 2023. “I really like that because I’m kind of the same way. We have similar past histories.”

Why Did ‘90 Day Fiance’ Star Brandan Move to the Philippines?

“I haven’t had a great experience living in America so far,” the TLC personality explained during the July 10 episode while discussing his relocation to his girlfriend’s native country of the Philippines. “I just can’t wait to finally be together with Mary. ‘Cause being on the phone is not good enough for either of us.”

Fans watched as Brandan boarded a plane to his new life during the July 17 episode, but not without a major argument with Mary surrounding the random woman he was seated next to while on the trek. 

“F—k you,” one text read from Mary read. “F—k your girl.” 

While Brandan ultimately got his seat moved, the damage was done and he worried he couldn’t take the arguing much longer once they were finally in person.

“We’re just so used to overthinking and fighting over the phone that it just become normal for us,” he explained in a confessional. “But I can only tolerate it up to a certain point.” 

What Problems Did ‘90 Day Fiance’ Star Brandan Face in the Philippines?

Apart from their trust issues, Mary and Brandan had difficulties with their finances. Brandan arrived in the overseas country with only $250 to his name.

The pair immediately struggled to pay their existing bills and the pressure only ignited after Brandan and Mary learned they were expecting baby No. 1 during the September 18 episode. “I don’t know how I’m feeling, I just can’t believe you’re pregnant. I am happy,” he told Mary before asking for time to “process.”

Brandan and Mary opened a convenience store and sold cellphones; however, the Philippines native grew frustrated with Brandan’s lack of initiative to solve their money problems.

Brandan’s mom, Angela Stiggens, arrived during the November 13 episode and Mary admitted the Oregon native’s inability to manage their finances made her nervous to go into the marriage, but she knew she could not imagine her life without him.

“I’m stressed because it’s always me budgeting money and taking care of the debt, and he knows to himself that he’s not helping me,” Mary told Angela in a heart to heart moment before their nuptials. “I’m really worried and I’m now [50/50 on marrying] Brandan because I don’t want to live with a man like that.”

Angela agreed that her son’s gaming was out of control and she offered to “discuss with him the amount of time he plays on his damn video games.” She continued, “It’s been a thing since he was a kid, trust me.”

Does 90 Day Fiance’s Brandan Live in the Philippines or the U.S.?

Brandan seemingly still lives in the Philippines with Mary. The TLC couple regularly post videos together on their joint TikTok and YouTube profiles. 

Their most recent video was posted on November 20, 2023, where the 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way alums documented themselves trying different types of foods while in the Philippines.

His mother seemingly made the visit in the spring after sharing several photos of the couple’s wedding reception via social media on April 28. In Touch exclusively confirmed the couple’s wedding amid their season’s unfolding.

The images showed Mary in a white wedding gown and a tiara alongside Brandan wearing a plum-colored suit, and surrounded by their family. Angela revealed in another post that the wedding took place in the Philippines and TLC cameras were present. The couple’s wedding played out during the November 13 episode.
