They said “I do!” Even though it seemed like the odds were stacked against 90 Day Fiancé stars Paul Staehle and Karine Martins‘ relationship, love eventually did win and the couple finally made it down the aisle! TLC aired scenes from their Brazilian wedding ceremony on this week’s episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, and Paul took to Instagram to share more photos from their special day.

But, of course, their wedding day didn’t come without a little bit of drama. In the days leading up to the wedding, Paul said he noticed that Karine had not been acting like her normal self, and it’s because she had started to second-guess her decision to marry Paul.

“I’m anxious and scared of the wedding. My big worry about the marriage is the arguments. I’m afraid it’ll never stop and that we’ll keep fighting over and over again,” Karine said in her confessional. “Our relationship has been so up and down and I’m concerned we might be rushing this. My life will change forever. I feel very confused right now. “

Things didn’t change on the morning of their wedding day. Even while Karine sat through hair and makeup, she was still unsure. Once she was dressed in her gown, she seemed to need extra time to decide if she really wanted to go through with the wedding and get married to Paul, because she left Paul waiting at the altar for 30 minutes while she cried in her dressing room. Eventually, Karine wiped her tears and decided that she did want to go through with their wedding after all.

“Even though I felt very nervous, I decided that I want to marry him. Paul promised me he’s going to change and I believe him. This made me change my mind,” she said in her confessional. “Despite all of the fights, there’s always a bright side about being with him. I love him and I want to build a future with Paul in America. I feel happy. Paul is my Prince Charming — but he didn’t come on a horse, he came on an airplane. I hope that now we are married, it will solve some of our problems.”
