90 Day Fiancé’s Ashley Reacts to Jay Wanting Spousal Support in Divorce: ‘Good Luck, Not Happening’
Not so amicable exes. Ashley Smith (née Martson) said that her estranged husband Jay Smith (real name: Conroy St. Christopher Smith) is still refusing to sign their divorce paperwork, and she claimed the reason why he’s holding off is because of a dispute over spousal support.
“For the PFA, I tried to get part of the stipulation for him to sign divorce paperwork,” the 90 Day Fiancé star exclusively tells In Touch. “He refused stating that he wants spousal support and 40 percent of my assets.” Ashley also shared her thoughts on Jay’s request, adding, “Good luck. Not happening.”
As we previously reported, a PFA (Protection From Abuse) was placed against Jay, 21, by Ashley, 32, on July 1. The following day, Upper Allen Police investigated a report of a PFA violation after a social media post made by Jay — it’s unclear which post was in violation. The reality star later turned himself in to authorities after learning he had a warrant out for his arrest. Since he is not an American citizen, Jay was taken into ICE custody, where he was facing deportation.
On July 17, Jay was found guilty of violating the PFA and was “sentenced one day and a $100 fine for the violation over the Instagram post,” but his time was already served. He still had to return to ICE custody while he awaited his deportation hearing. Jay was ultimately released from ICE custody just two weeks later after his boss, who goes by the name Ego, paid his $4,500 bond.
Back in January 2019, Ashley filed for divorce from her estranged husband, Jay, for the first time, but she decided to withdraw the paperwork less than two weeks later. She then refiled in April, claiming “adultery” was the reason for their split.
While chatting with In Touch exclusively, the reality star confirmed that she is still happy with her decision to move on and said there’s zero chance for a reconciliation with Jay.
