Jutta is a speed skater from the Netherlands who has an Olympic medal to her name.

She was born on December 30, 1998, and grew up competing in speed skating events, eventually earning the junior world champion title at the 2017 World Junior Championships in Helsinki, Finland. The following year, Jutta finished second behind fellow Dutch athlete Joy Beune in the 2018 Championships in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Jutta is an all-around star in both sprint and distance speed skating. She has gold medals from both the World Sprint Championships and the World Singles Distances Championships.

The athlete’s crowning glory was winning a silver medal in the 1000m competition at the Beijing Winter Olympics in 2022.

Jutta is still competing, most recently taking home silver in the women’s sprint 1000m at the ISU World Speed Skating all around and sprint championships in Inzell, Germany, in March 2024.

Both were fresh off breakups with other people when Jake slid into Jutta’s DM’s in 2022, and they began getting to know each other.

The pair finally met up in person in Miami, Florida, and sparks flew. Jake announced their romance in an April 3, 2023, Instagram post, writing, “I’m Dutch now,” and tagging Jutta. He shared two photos: one of the couple holding hands on a date and another of the pair going out for a run together.

Since both are committed athletes with busy schedules, the duo isn’t able to be together all the time.

“In the morning when I wake up, I wake up extra, like, sometimes early from excitement because, like, he sends me, like, little vlogs. And everyday he sends me, like, videos of you guys just, like, living your life here and it feels like I’m really a part of your life,” Jutta shared during a YouTube video as the pair took a couple’s quiz in 2023.

“Yeah, because we’re a long-distance relationship,” Jake added. “Whenever she goes to sleep at night, I’ll send her, like, two to five videos, making her feel like she’s a part of everything we have going on at night and such,” referring to his family.

Jake announced his engagement to Jutta in an Instagram post on March 22, 2025.

“We’re engaged,” he captioned a set of photos showing him proposing to his longtime love on one knee. “We can’t wait to spend forever together.”

In the photos, the couple matched in all white and were surrounded by candles and flower petals. They had a stunning view of mountains and water in the background.

Jutta dished on the proposal and her ring in an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the Paul American premiere, revealing that Jake is “the biggest romantic in the world.” Her gorgeous diamond bauble is not only shaped in an ice rink to represent her career, but also features both of their initials and their birthstones.

“I’m so lucky, really,” she told the outlet. “People don’t expect that from him, but he’s seriously the sweetest. And we have such a great connection.”
