Find Out Which ‘Teen Mom OG’ and ‘Teen Mom 2’ Couples Are Still Together

When MTV introduced fans to Maci Bookout, Amber Portwood, Farrah Abraham and Catelynn Lowell on season 1 in 2009, fans immediately connected with their storylines. The four girls returned for season 1 of Teen Mom to portray the highs and lows of teen pregnancy, which included struggles with relationships.

Eight out of 10 teen dads do not go on to marry the mothers of their children, according to Dr. Oz.com. Most teen couples who experience a pregnancy don’t stay together.

This was true for Maci, Amber and Farrah. Maci split from high school sweetheart Ryan Edwards in 2010 — barely one year after they welcomed their first child together, son Bentley, in October 2008. While they both have moved on, as Maci is married and welcomed two other children with husband Taylor McKinney and Ryan married wife Mackenzie Standifer and welcomed two additional children, the exes are still not on good terms more than a decade later. However, Ryan’s marriage didn’t last as In Touch confirmed on February 28, 2023, that Mackenzie had filed for divorce from Ryan amid drama that played out online.

Farrah split from late ex-boyfriend Derek Underwood — who is the father of her daughter, Sophia — while she was still pregnant. Unfortunately, Derek died in a December 2008 car crash, just months before Sophia was born in February 2009. Farrah was fired from Teen Mom OG in October 2017.

Amber and her boyfriend Gary Shirley were together for two and a half years when they learned they were pregnant with their first child. Amber gave birth to their daughter, Leah, in November 2008. The couple’s relationship quickly turned volatile and fans witnessed several domestic violence incidents between Amber and Gary on the show. Despite their issues, Gary proposed to Amber twice but they split for good when she was sentenced to five years in prison in January 2012. She only served 16 months in prison and was released on November 4, 2013. By the time of her release, Gary had already moved on with Kristina Anderson. The couple welcomed their only child, daughter Emilee, in April 2015 and tied the knot that September.

Catelynn is the only one of the original Teen Mom cast members who is still in a relationship with the father of her first child. Catelynn and Tyler Baltierra welcomed their first daughter, Carolyn ‘Carly’ Elizabeth Davis, in May 2009 and placed her for adoption shortly after her birth. Despite several obstacles, the couple eventually tied the knot in August 2015 and have welcomed three additional daughters since: Novalee Reign in January 2015, Vaeda Luma in February 2019 and Rya Rose in August 2021.
