It’s been a few years since we first met Kristina Shirley (née Anderson) — one of the many leading ladies in Teen Mom OG star Gary Shirley’s life (the others, of course, being his nine-year-old daughter Leah with his ex Amber Portwood and his two-year-old daughter Emilee with Kristina). Though she’s regularly made appearances on the show, not much is known about Gary’s level-headed spouse other than the fact that the two of them make an adorable couple — and that Kristina has a special bond with her stepdaughter.
On last night’s finale special, Kristina admitted to cheating on Greg with Gary. “I feel bad about it,” Gary said. “It wasn’t my intention, and it wasn’t hers either. But you can’t stop love,” which prompted some laughs from the audience. Keep reading to see everything we know about Kristina’s first husband!

While we have watched Leah and Emilee grow up before our eyes (Gary has previously explained that he films his children to help pay for their college fund), even die-hard Teen Mom fans may be surprised to learn that Kristina has an older daughter, nine-year-old Karly, who is never on-screen!
In case you wondering, that’s more than just being camera-shy — Karly’s dad fought (and won) a custody battle to keep their daughter off the MTV series.
Their custody battle was… messy.
Many of their issues stemmed from the presence of the MTV cameras being around their daughter, and at one point, Greg filed for a restraining order against Kristina in order to protect his daughter from what he perceives to be an unhealthy situation.
They eventually came to terms, and according to the paperwork, the parents agreed, “Karly shall not be present during filming by a third party, New Remote Productions, Inc., MTV, or any other company or its affiliates.”
Kristina was still married to Greg when she started dating Gary.
You guys may remember that Gary first started flaunting his love or Kristina around 2013, while Amber was still locked up — but Kristina’s divorce from Greg wasn’t finalized until the following year. How awkward!
