Teen Mom’s Maci and Ryan Acknowledge That Teen Son Bentley ‘Could Get Somebody Pregnant’

Teen Mom stars Maci Bookout and Ryan Edwards addressed the possibility of their teenage son, Bentley, following in their footsteps and getting someone pregnant.

In a teaser clip for the Thursday, January 30, premiere of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter shared by TooFab, Ryan and his then-girlfriend, Amanda Conner, visited Maci, 33, and her husband Taylor McKinney’s home for the first time.

The coparents got together to discuss Bentley’s upcoming 16th birthday party. “That’s crazy … s–t went by quick!” Ryan, 37, said of their son turning 16.

Maci explained that Bentley wanted to celebrate his milestone birthday with all four of his parental figures, and she suggested that they throw a celebration at a golf course. She then added that it would be nice if they could get him a car.

After noting that Bentley had expressed interest in her Jeep, she explained that she was able to find a used car from the same brand and wanted for all four of them to go check out the vehicle.

“Financially, I don’t want anyone that can’t or feel like they have to,” Maci added, and Ryan quickly said he would “love” to help her get the car.

The former couple then acknowledged that they had to set ground rules when it came to the car. Ryan pointed out that they’re “not gonna know” what Bentley’s doing at all times. “As long as he’s not drinking and driving, he can’t get in that much trouble,” he said.

“He could get somebody pregnant!” Maci responded, and Ryan playfully replied, “That don’t got to do with a vehicle!”

Maci then explained that she and Taylor, 35, had “been talking about” the possibility of Bentley being sexually active. However, Ryan warned them that if they “keep telling him not to do” something, they will all “see how much he is like me.”

“He’s just gotta be protected. Hopefully he just keeps golfing,” Maci said before Ryan quipped, “There’s always them cart girls though!”

Maci and Ryan have experienced many highs and lows over the years, though she explained how they got back to being on good terms during an exclusive interview with In Touch.

“I would say I would describe it as, um, healthy. It’s definitely healthier,” Maci said of her and Ryan’s current dynamic. “It’s, I mean, we still have a long way to go, but it’s much more stable and stronger than it’s ever been and than I ever thought it could be, to be honest.”

She added that getting to a healthy place with Ryan didn’t happen overnight. “It took a lot of self-awareness and accountability, but also, um, patience and just a lot of individual work,” the MTV personality continued. “You know … everyone involved had to do a lot of work on themselves for all of us to be where we are now.”

In addition to Bentley, Maci also shares daughter Jayde McKinney, 9, and son Maverick Reed McKinney, 8, with Taylor.

Meanwhile, Ryan is the father to son Jagger, 6, and daughter Stella, 5, with his estranged wife, Mackenzie Standifer. Additionally, he and Amanda are currently expecting their first child together.
