Teen Mom’s Maci Bookout Praises Ex Ryan Edwards and Amanda’s Relationship: ‘Fantastic Together’

Teen Mom star Maci Bookout shares her thoughts on ex Ryan Edwards’ relationship with his fiancée, Amanda Conner, during an exclusive video interview with In Touch.

“I think they’re fantastic together. I think he finally picked the right one,” Maci, 33, tells In Touch while promoting season 2B of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter. “But also, it’s a real blessing for Bentley to be able to see someone love his dad.”

Maci and Ryan, 37, welcomed son Bentley, 16, in 2008. Following their split, Ryan went on to welcome kids Jagger and Stella with his estranged wife, Mackenzie Standifer. The former couple split in February 2023, and their divorce has not yet been finalized.

“I don’t think that he has ever been able to actually witness his dad be in real true love and be, you know, taken care of and respected and loved,” Maci continues. “And to also see his dad be able to give that back. So I love them together.”

Ryan and Amanda reportedly met when he was completing his 28-day rehab stint in the summer of 2023. The pair moved in together in February 2024, and rumors began to swirl that Amanda was pregnant with their first child together in September 2024.

“Ryan and I are very excited about our pregnancy. We have overcome so much in the last year and a half, and we are in a very happy, safe place,” Amanda confirmed in a statement to People in October 2024. “For me, I can enjoy this pregnancy and I have a second chance at motherhood. For Ryan, he is in a place that he hasn’t been in for a long time. We are excited to move forward from our past mistakes.”

The couple continued to experience milestones in their relationship when they announced they were engaged in January.

Ryan shared a video of the proposal via Instagram on January 12, which showed him getting down on one knee and as he proposed near a firepit. The lovebirds were surrounded by a small group of family and friends, including Bentley, for the special moment.

While speaking to In Touch, Maci reveals that Bentley is “excited” to have a new sibling amid Amanda’s pregnancy. However, she jokingly adds that he’s “done” having new additions in their family.

In addition to Bentley, Maci shares kids Jayde and Maverick with husband Taylor McKinney.

Fans have watched Maci and Ryan navigate a difficult coparenting dynamic over the years as he battled addiction issues. However, they now seem to be on better terms and have worked together to be part of Bentley’s life.

In May 2024, Maci discussed her approval of Ryan and Amanda’s relationship during an exclusive interview with In Touch.

“They have a really solid friendship and just a genuine care for one another,” she said about the couple at the time. “She is fantastic. She’s just really supportive of Ryan and his relationship with [our son] Bentley and his coparenting relationship with me.”
