Teddi Mellencamp Reveals She’s Living With Kyle Richards Amid Divorce and Affair Scandal

Teddi Mellencamp is leaning on friends amid her divorce, and she revealed that she’s living with her former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills costar Kyle Richards after her cheating scandal went public.

During the Thursday, December 5, episode of her “Diamonds in the Rough” podcast, Teddi, 43, explained that she’s living part-time with Kyle, 55, as she and her estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave, split time in their marital home with their three children, Slate, 12, Cruz, and Dove, 4.

“They know that we are separated, filed for divorce. I’m nesting,” she told cohost Erika Jayne about her kids during the podcast’s debut episode.

Teddi then shared insight about what her and Edwin’s divorce will look like. “Some places you can just file for divorce … in California, there’s a six-month cooling-off period. During that six months, you can do a multitude of things,” she explained. “The way I learned about nesting was one of my good girlfriends, she’s a divorce coach. She told me about nesting. It’s where the kids stay [in the marital home] and the parents come and go.”

While discussing their current custody arrangement, Teddi explained that she and Edwin, 47, “leave when the other one sleeps.” She added that she and her ex are on good terms by explaining, “We can both be there for sporting events … we’re completely happy to be around one another.”

Teddi went on to praise Kyle for letting her stay at her Beverly Hills home when she’s not at her marital home. “Thankfully, Kyle has let me do that. This is how you know there are real friendships to be made [on reality TV],” she said. “I was like, ‘Am I gonna get a place to live?’ I just zip on over, it’s close, easy. She cooks. Sometimes. We’re just starting. We’re newly into it.”

“It does work out well for the kids — we’re right around the corner and everything’s on a calendar,” Teddi continued about the arrangement. “They know exactly when I come and go and vice versa.”

The former reality star – who appeared on RHOBH from seasons 8 until 13 — shared her current living situation just one month after she announced her divorce from Edwin.

“After a great deal of care and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce,” she wrote via Instagram on November 2. “My priority is my children and ensuring that every care is taken with their privacy and wellbeing throughout this new chapter.”

Just days later, In Touch confirmed that Teddi was having an affair with horse trainer Simon Schroeder during her marriage.

Teddi eventually broke her silence on the scandal by issuing a statement on November 24. “The only person who can change your life is you. We have two options, pretend to be a victim or stand up and fight for yourself. We all deserve peace and happiness,” she wrote via Instagram alongside a video that showed her working out. “I have cried and mourned. I have taken accountability and apologized for things I have done wrong. Now, I have given myself permission to grow and thrive.”

She then told her followers that there are “three sides to every story.” Teddi continued, “How can I stand up and show up for the people that do matter? This is called being an adult. This is what saying with my full chest means.”
