Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s Baby Name Meaning Is Straight From Sunday Service

Too cute! Kim Kardashian and Kanye West announced the name of their fourth child — Psalm West — on Friday, May 17. The unique moniker perfectly fits their newborn son, who arrived via surrogate on May 10. Obviously, the name is dripping in Biblical meaning, which shouldn’t come as a surprise since Kimye has been strongly devoted to their Sunday Service.

The pronunciation is pretty straightforward. The “p” at the beginning of the name is completely silent so it sounds like “salm.” As for the meaning, it seems as though the happy parents hope their child is very musical. The dictionary definition of Psalm is “a sacred song or poem used in worship.”

There is also the book of Psalms in the Old Testament of the Bible. It’s filled with (you guessed it) poems that are meant to be sung. Obviously, the Kardashian-West family thinks their fourth child is ~composed~ perfectly.

Fans anxiously awaited the arrival of Kimye’s new bundle of joy after Kourtney Kardashian announced during The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday, May 9, that their surrogate was in labor. The family has safely welcomed their son and is ready to enjoy some quiet time as a family of six.

On January 15, Kim finally confirmed that she and her hubby were expecting a fourth child via surrogate. “Are you working on another child?” Andy Cohen asked the KUWTK star, 38, during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. The brunette beauty simply responded, “We are.”

Shockingly enough, the California native was the one to leak details about her fourth child. “I got drunk at our Christmas Eve party, and I told some people, and I can’t remember who I told because I never get drunk and …” the starlet said.

Just before the baby was born, Kim told Jimmy Kimmel that she wasn’t sure what they would call the little tot. “I actually do not … I was Googling Armenian boys names last night, and I couldn’t really find anything,” the TV personality admitted when the host asked her if she picked out a moniker yet. “Actually, I do have one name,” the Selfish author confessed. “I was truthfully thinking of just named him ‘Rob.’ [Like] my brother, Rob.”

Since North, 5, Saint, 3, and Chicago, 14 months have unique tags, the KKW Beauty founder was hesitant on picking such a ~normal~ name. “But then, it’s kind of like North, Saint, Chicago, Rob … it doesn’t really go,” she revealed. “But, I really was feeling that, or like Robert, and my brother approved it. So, that’s like our one kind of name.”

At the end of the day, it seems like Kim’s family is finally complete — even if it’s chaotic. “Baby number four [is] on the way,” she told Jimmy Fallon in February. “But I was kind of stressing that my house is so full, but I heard that parents of four are the most enlightened and calm of all parents.”
