Jennifer Lopez Admits She’s ‘Been Doing It All Wrong’ as She Embraces Her Single Era

Jennifer Lopez is in her single era.

The multi-hyphenate, 56, has been single since her 2024 divorce from Ben Affleck, and admitted she “should have done it sooner.”

“I’ve been doing it all wrong. I’ve been doing it all wrong,” Lopez told Jimmy Kimmel during a Wednesday, May 27, appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! “Trust me.”

When asked if she would become the next Bachelorette, she answered: “I’m not doing anything to ruin how I feel right now…It’s fantastic.”

The Office Romance star has long been considered a serial monogamist. Following her breakout role in 1997’s Selena, Lopez married actor Ojani Noa. Their marriage was short-lived, and the pair divorced in January 1998. She then dated Sean “Diddy” Combs for two years before marrying Cris Judd in 2001.

Following their July 2002 divorce, the “Waiting for Tonight” artist was engaged to Affleck, 53. However, after postponing their wedding, the pair called off the engagement in early 2004. She would then marry singer Marc Anthony in 2004 and welcome twins, Emme and Max, in 2008.

After a decade together, they split, and Lopez was linked to backup dancer Casper Smart from 2011 to 2016. The following year, she began dating former New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez. The pair got engaged, but called it off in 2021.

Soon after, Lopez rekindled her romance with Affleck, and the pair eloped to Las Vegas in July 2022. They split two years later.

“I’ll meet somebody somewhere one day if they’re good enough,” Lopez told Kimmel. “I’m good. I’m good right now where I’m at.”

Despite Lopez finding peace in her current chapter, Rodriguez quietly reached out to her after breaking up with fitness instructor Jaclyn Cordeiro, according to gossip columnist Rob Shuter.

“Alex never fully got over Jennifer,” Shuter reported in his Thursday, May 28, Naughty But Nice Substack. “The relationship meant everything to him, and once he became single again, reaching out felt inevitable.”
