Spencer Pratt‘s chances of becoming the next mayor of Los Angeles no longer seem as unlikely as they once did.
Campaign disclosures reveal the former reality star has raised $2.7 million in donations to incumbent Mayor Karen Bass‘ $2.8 million, per the Daily Mail.
The Hills alum, 42, has also “managed to get himself in the room with the right people,” adds the source, and has been “steadily gaining support from people at the very top of the Hollywood food chain.”
“He has a lot of friends who have introduced him to their friends … so even if he doesn’t win this election, there’s no way his enemies have seen the last of him,” says the source.

Earlier this month, Deadline reported that Pratt has signed up for an unscripted series — and that production has already started.
“Spencer has the magic touch when it comes to reality TV, and this race has shown how popular he still is,” says the source. “He’s been filming everything so that’ll make fantastic footage for a show no matter what.”
There are also “other plans and opportunities in the works,” the source reveals.
“He’s threatened to move away if he doesn’t win, but even if he does, there’s money to be made for him in Hollywood,” says the source. “He’s getting this second wind right now as far as his popularity and bankability, [and] he’s onto a goldmine no matter what.”
