Nickelback has canceled the remainder of their current No Fixed Address tour in North America, as lead singer Chad Kroeger was diagnosed with an operable cyst on his voice box.
The 40-year-old singer will undergo surgery to treat the condition in three weeks, the band reveals.

Chad and his Nickelback band mates.
“I am so sorry I have to interrupt the party this summer and I am definitely not thrilled with the prospect of being silent for many weeks to come when I could be out there playing for our fans,” he said in a statement posted to the band’s website.
“I am relying on my doctor and his team to help get my voice back in good form as quickly as possible.”

The band’s statement says the tour will resume for its European leg beginning Sept. 30.
This is the latest health crisis to plague Chad and his wife, Avril Lavigne.
Earlier this year, the 30-year-old songstress revealed her heartbreaking battle with Lyme disease.

“I felt like I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t talk and I couldn’t move,” she said of the five months the disease kept her bedridden. “I thought I was dying.”
Avril credited her husband of nearly two years with assisting her during the particularly dark times — and now it’s her turn to return the favor.
We wish Chad a speedy recovery following his operation!
