A bone was discovered by a live streamer near Nancy Guthrie‘s home in Tucson, Arizona, but police have officially ruled out any connection to the missing woman.
“This will be a prehistoric anthropological investigation,” the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement on Friday, May 8, per The Daily Beast. “The University of Arizona’s Anthropology Department and the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner assisted. This is not a criminal investigation.”
On Thursday, May 8, a YouTube streamer under the account @AJDoubleUNews was searching around the area of Nancy’s Catalina Foothills home. He stumbled upon what he believed to be a human leg bone and immediately contacted authorities.
Nancy, 84, was last seen on January 31 when she was dropped off by daughter Annie Guthrie and son-in-law Tommaso Cioni at her house. When she failed to arrive at a streaming church service the following morning, a friend alerted the family.
Earlier this week, a new documentary was released that featured NewsNation‘s Brian Entin speaking with multiple experts about the case, including what type of person they believe would have abducted Nancy.
“What you’re dealing with is somebody with some sort of cruel, sadistic, scheming kind of personality,” Dr. Gary Brucato explained. “And you do not develop that kind of personality overnight. You tend to have a long history of being that way.”
