As the search for Savannah Guthrie’s mom, Nancy Guthrie, continues, Savannah’s friends at NBC News are reportedly pulling out all the stops to help find her.
“This is not just a story to them — this is family,” a source told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack on Tuesday, March 24. “Every top reporter, every legal mind, every law enforcement contact they have is being used.”
Plus, the insider said that there are rumors of a benefit concert along with a primetime special in the works.
“There’s active talk of a primetime special,” a source explained. “They want to keep this in the national spotlight until there are answers. There are even discussions about a major New York City benefit concert. Big names, big awareness – possibly hosted by Jimmy Fallon.”

According to the insiders, even producers of Dateline are pitching in to help behind the scenes.
“They have the best in the business, and they’re all working this,” one insider revealed to Naughty But Nice. “They are determined to keep attention on this case.”
And while Savannah, 54, reportedly “wants to come back” to her hosting position at Today, right now, “her focus is her family — and finding her mom.”
“NBC is standing with her — on air and off,” the insider added. “They’re not letting this story fade away.”
Nancy, 84, was last seen on January 31 after her daughter Annie Guthrie and son-in-law Tommaso Cioni dropped her off at her Catalina Foothills home in Tucson, Arizona. Since then, the leads in the case have been minimal.

As In Touch previously reported, CEO of the National Center for Open and Unsolved Cases Morgan Wright thinks it might be time to consider this a “no-body homicide” instead of a missing persons case.
“The longer this goes on, the more it appears to be a targeted abduction that went wrong,” Wright said during an appearance on Brian Entin Investigates on March 19. “I know nobody wants to hear it, but I’m an investigator. I’d love to say there’s hope out there, but in reality, this is a no-body homicide right now.”
People with any information regarding the case are asked to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324). You may also contact your local FBI office, the nearest American Embassy or Consulate, or you can submit a tip online at tips.fbi.gov.
