Playing the blame game. Lori Loughlin’s friends apparently think that her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, is the one that got the couple involved in the nationwide college admissions scandal, a source revealed to Us Weekly.

“Everyone feels bad for her,” the insider explained to the publication. “They think the situation was something concocted by her husband.” Apparently, Loughlin’s companions were never fans of her 55-year-old husband, either. “Her friends don’t like him,” the source added.

Loughlin, 54, and her husband, Giannulli, were arrested in March after they allegedly “agreed to pay bribes totaling $500,000 in exchange for having their two daughters, Isabella, 20, and Olivia, 19, designated as recruits to the USC crew team — despite the fact that they did not participate in crew — thereby facilitating their admission to USC.” The duo was later released from jail on $1 million bond.

On Tuesday, April 9, the pair was hit with new money laundering charges for their alleged involvement in the scandal. The former Full House star and the fashion designer were two of the 16 parents who were indicted by the Federal Grand Jury in Boston after refusing to take a plea deal. They could face up to 20 years in prison if they are found guilty.

Now, Loughlin and Giannulli are pleading not guilty to all charges. “Ms. Loughlin and her counsel affirm that Ms. Loughlin has received a copy of the Second Superseding Indictment and that Ms. Loughlin pleads not guilty to each of the charges against her,” read documents obtained by In Touch. “Mr. Giannulli pleads not guilty to each of the charges against him.”

Those charges include “conspiring to commit fraud and money laundering in connection with a scheme to use bribery to cheat on college entrance exams and to facilitate their children’s admission to selective colleges and universities as purported athletic recruits.”

Giannulli and the New York native got married two days before Thanksgiving in 1997. Now, it seems like their relationship might be in trouble. “Lori’s got a lot on her mind these days,” an insider told In Touch exclusively. “Besides the FBI investigation into her daughter’s college admissions, her and her husband’s humiliating arrest and the possibility of facing five years in prison, she’s telling friends that her marriage is in trouble.”

Will she stay together with her man? What happens next? Only time will tell.
