Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli Are ‘Anxious’ Ahead of Sentencing: They Want to ‘Move Forward’

Lori Loughlin and husband Mossimo Giannulli are expected to be sentenced to prison on Friday, August 21, for their involvement in the college admissions scandal, and they’re ready to put the past behind them.

“Lori is feeling nervous for the hearing but also looking forward to having resolve,” an insider told Us Weekly. “Lori has been through so much because of this decision she made for her children, and she’s looking forward to complying with the court’s decision and finally moving forward with her life. Lori is surrounded by her family; everyone is very supportive.”

They added the Full House alum, 56, and her fashion designer husband, 57, are “anxious” but “looking forward to closing this chapter of their lives.”

The couple first found themselves in hot water back in March 2019. At the time, they were arrested for paying $500,000 to ensure their daughters — Olivia Jade Giannulli and Isabella Rose Giannulli — would be admitted to the University of Southern California [USC] as crew recruits. Though they initially pleaded not guilty and were willing to take a chance in court, they changed their pleas in May. Loughlin pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud, and Giannulli pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud and honest services wire and mail fraud.

They’re “bracing themselves for prison,” a source exclusively told In Touch in May. “It’s not going to be easy for them — especially Lori, who’s used to living very comfortably and having it all. Lori and Mossimo tried everything to get out of this, but in the end, they knew they’d lose at trial.”

A separate source revealed the decision to plead guilty “didn’t come easy,”  but the “bottom line, she was done fighting.”

“She and Mossimo were so adamant about their innocence, but the pressures of the trial and the thought of spending years behind bars finally wore them down,” the insider explained.

Federal prosecutors are seeking a two-month prison sentence for Loughlin, In Touch previously confirmed. If the request is honored by U.S. District Judge Nathaniel Gorton, her spouse would spend five months behind bars.

Giannulli is scheduled to be sentenced Friday at 11 a.m., and Loughlin is expected to be sentenced at 2:30 p.m.
